Become a Foster!

Halfway Home is always in need of more foster families, as they are a vital part of our organization. A foster home is someone who takes in one of our rescue animals while he or she is awaiting adoption and provides all the basic care for the pet. These families give housing, love, socialization, and attention to the animals. This in turn better prepares them for their future. Many people are worried that they will become too attached to let go, and that they can’t handle the emotions that come with it. We understand but would like for it to be seen this way; our hearts can mend, but lives are at stake. It can be a matter of life and death, and we cannot be selfish. We urge the consideration of taking this obligation on, as it is well worth it.

Halfway Home will provide the incurred medical expense (Vaccines, spay/neuter, exams, etc.), food and other supplies, as well as giving support along the journey of fostering. Expenses from damages to household (i.e.: Chewing, potty accidents) will not be covered by Halfway Home.

The process to become a foster is simple. First and foremost, you must submit an application found below. If you meet the basic criteria, you will then be scheduled for an in- person interview with the Director/Secretary.
